I am one of those moms that loves to wear heels! Shoes are my favorite piece to an outfit and heels are a must! There are so many amazing and chic styles out there. Don't get me wrong, I love me some trendy sneakers, but there's nothing quite like a good pair of heels. They instantly boost my confidence and easily complete my looks.
Though I don't generally have many occasions that requires heels, this doesn't stop me! The best way to make your heels every day friendly is to pair them with denim. This will instantly give a more casual vibe, therefore more appropriate for every day wear!
Another trick is to wear a thicker block heel vs a stiletto heel. Not only are they easier to walk in, they have a more casual feel to them than the dressy slim heels typically found on pumps. A block heel is also generally found on more casual styles, such as ankle boots.
Finally, you can pair your heels with a t shirt or some neutral basics, like I did here. I went with a simple cream sweater and beige knit vest. You can make your look more casual, of course. This is a look I would wear to a lunch date with a girlfriend, a play date at the mall with my kiddos, church, or even some errand running.
I am completely in love with these mules! I wasn't sure how felt about the mules trend until I tried them for my first Fearless Friday post (you can read about it here) but I love the cute bow details and gold heels on this pair. They are so chic and can easily be dressed up as well! I was lucky enough to score them at over 60% off during cyber Monday. I've linked several different heeled mule options below, just click the photos to shop!
I hope today's post encouraged you to pull out those heels a little more often ;) Let me know in the comments below!
Pairing your heels with denim, rather than dress slacks, a dress, or pencil skirt, instantly bings a more casual vibe to your look. You can also opt for a thicker block heel for a comfier option, typically these are found on booties, boots, mules, and sandals, all with a more casual feel than your stiletto pumps! Pair those simpler heels with a t shirt or other neutral basics to bring the casual level even lower!
Do you typically wear heels, flats, or sneakers? I challenge you to step out of your comfort zone and try something new this week!
Do you have a pair of casual heels? Pull out your favorite denim, t shirt or sweater and try wearing that look. Add some simple studs and a tote or bucket bag to complete the look.
