As always you can scroll to the bottom for my 5 Min Takeaway, if you don't have time to read the full post!
Today I've got two different ways for you to wear a mock neck sweater! If you didn't know by now, I've got a thing for a good sweater and sneakers combo. It's just an easy, comfy way to look stylish while still safe enough to chase my kids around.
(If you don't know them personally, I always tell people they are the reason I lost all the baby weight! They are seriously on the go all.the.time.)
So, of course my first look is with some denim and favorite sneakers. I love the rose gold details on the sneakers with the gray sweater!
This mock sweater is an absolute favorite. It's warm, (it was seriously SO cold the day we shot these but I wasn't miserable without a coat! What can I say, I like to go the extra mile and test these things out for my readers! ;) it comes in a bunch of colors, and I love the neckline. It's forgiving, flattering, and trendy.
And I can't even tell you how much I LOVE this purse! In case you missed it, I did a post on my favorite name brand dupes and this beauty was on there! It looks like the $1,400+ Gucci Dionysus for about $100!!! I absolutely loooove it! It's beautiful.
I wanted the next look to be something totally different, just to show you that your pieces have versatility and can be styled in many ways. I decided to combine it with this skirt, because I knew it was a great statement piece and the sweater was simple enough to bring the look together.
I added my favorite OTK boots and black tights to create a toned down look so that the skirt could be the center of the outfit. Topped it off with this amazing little purse for a pop of color!
What do you think? Which is your favorite look?
I've said this before and I will say it again. Your pieces are more versatile than you think! I want you to really understand this, because you don't need a huge wardrobe to create several looks.
Pull out one of your favorite tops. Whether it's a sweater, a t shirt, a plaid flannel, or a button up blouse. Now try pulling out some pieces you never would've thought to pair it with, or pieces you generally don't wear with it.
T shirts look really good with skirts and sneakers, for example. You don't have to dress up to wear a skirt!
Try toning down that blouse with some destroyed (or not;) boyfriend denim and pumps. Blouses don't have to be worn with slacks.
Layer that flannel underneath a sweater for a preppy look. You can even throw on a down vest for added interest. (and warmth!)
I am challenging you to create two looks with one piece. Comment below to let me know how it goes, or tag me in some Instagram photos with hashtag #tbl_twowaystowearit so I can see them! :)
